Panchayat असली गांव नहीं दिखाता? Neeraj Ghaywan का बड़ा दावा, बोले- ना एक lower-caste, ना एक Muslim…

मशहूर filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan ने एक बार फिर Indian entertainment industry में social representation और caste diversity को लेकर बड़ी बहस छेड़ दी है।

अपनी फिल्मों में caste inequality और social realities को दिखाने के लिए पहचाने जाने वाले Neeraj Ghaywan ने इस बार hit web series Panchayat और content platform TVF (The Viral Fever) पर निशाना साधा है।

उनका कहना है कि आज भी कई acclaimed shows भारतीय समाज की असली diversity को नहीं दिखाते।

‘TVF के shows अच्छे हैं, इसलिए सवाल पूछ रहा हूं’

हाल ही में एक बातचीत के दौरान Neeraj Ghaywan ने साफ किया कि उनकी आलोचना किसी नफरत से नहीं, बल्कि appreciation से आती है।

उन्होंने कहा कि TVF बेहतरीन content बना रहा है, लेकिन यही वजह है कि उनसे ज्यादा जिम्मेदारी की उम्मीद की जाती है।

Neeraj ने कहा कि TVF जैसे platforms, जिन्हें educated creators चला रहे हैं, उन्हें समाज के हर वर्ग को representation देना चाहिए।

उनका दावा था कि TVF के ज्यादातर shows में शुरुआत से upper-caste characters dominate करते दिखे हैं।

‘ना lower-caste, ना Muslim’

Neeraj Ghaywan का सबसे बड़ा आरोप यही था कि mainstream storytelling में marginalized communities को अक्सर गायब कर दिया जाता है।

उन्होंने कहा कि अगर creators educated हैं और समाज को समझते हैं, तो उन्हें यह भी समझना चाहिए कि stories में सिर्फ एक section of society को दिखाना incomplete reality है।

उनके मुताबिक, cinema और OTT सिर्फ entertainment नहीं, बल्कि समाज का reflection भी हैं।

Panchayat को बताया ‘अधूरा village reality’

Neeraj ने उदाहरण के तौर पर Panchayat का जिक्र किया, जिसे आमतौर पर Indian villages की authentic representation माना जाता है।

लेकिन उन्होंने इस perception को challenge करते हुए कहा कि कोई भी गांव ऐसा नहीं हो सकता जहां सिर्फ upper-caste identities ही दिखाई दें।

उनका कहना है कि अगर गांव की कहानी कही जा रही है, तो उसमें caste, religion और class की real dynamics को भी जगह मिलनी चाहिए।

Panchayat क्यों है इतनी popular?

TVF की बनाई Panchayat भारत की सबसे सफल web series में गिनी जाती है।

इस series में Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy और Sanvikaa जैसे कलाकार हैं।

उत्तर प्रदेश के fictional गांव Phulera पर आधारित यह कहानी एक engineering graduate की है, जो मजबूरी में gram panchayat secretary बनता है।

इसके humour, emotional depth और grounded storytelling की काफी तारीफ हुई है।

नई बहस ने खोले representation के सवाल

Neeraj Ghaywan के इस बयान के बाद social media पर बहस तेज हो गई है।

कुछ लोग उनके viewpoint को support कर रहे हैं और कह रहे हैं कि Indian storytelling में inclusivity बढ़नी चाहिए।

वहीं कुछ viewers का मानना है कि Panchayat का focus caste politics नहीं, बल्कि rural simplicity और human emotions पर है।

लेकिन एक बात साफ है Neeraj के इस बयान ने एक बार फिर यह सवाल खड़ा कर दिया है कि क्या Indian OTT content सच में भारत की पूरी तस्वीर दिखा रहा है?
